earlier CompTIA A+ certification exam

The earlier CompTIA A+ certification exam comprised of a total of two exams; CompTIA 220-901 and 220-902. Since July 2019, CompTIA 220-901 and 220-902 exams have been expired. CompTIA has launched two new exams; 220-1001 (Core 1) and 220-1002 (Core 2) for the CompTIA A+ certification training.

1. CompTIA A+ 220-901

The previously held CompTIA A+ 220-901 exam tests your basic skills and knowledge of computer hardware, software and networking.

CompTIA A+ 220-1002

The CompTIA A+ 220-1002 exam tests your knowledge of installing and troubleshooting common Operating System problems.

Before starting to prepare for the A+ certification exam, it is advisable to understand the exam pattern first and get a good overview of all the exams required to be cleared for obtaining the certification.

By going through the percentages of each section in the A+ certification exam, you can create an effective learning strategy by giving the correct amount of time to each section in the test.

All four exams for the CompTIA A+ certification consist of a total of 90 questions. They are mostly MCQs and performance-based questions. The time duration for both exams is 90 minutes.

Once you have decided to prepare for the CompTIA A+ certification, it is equally important to decide when to book for your certification exam. Based on your work schedules and learning abilities, you can either book for your certification exam before or after you have completed your preparations for the test.
